About

This blog is meant to serve as a recipe diary for my children, extended family and maybe even a few friends. I hope to share a variety of recipes…whether they be favorites that my family has enjoyed for years or new concoctions that we have recently adopted. It is my hope that my children will cherish these recipes/projects and be blessed to one day share them with future generations.

My passion for cooking began in college where I studied what was then called Home Economics. Later, I earned my Master’s Degree in Human Development and Family Sciences. Growing up in an Irish household, our regular nightly meal consisted of the basic three…meat, mashed potatoes, and green vegetables. These delicacies were cooked until they could be cooked no more… always well-done!

Working in various restaurants throughout my college years, I learned that there are so many other food choices to explore. Over the years, I’ve collected cookbooks and recipes, entered and won several cooking/baking contests, and perfected several really great recipes that I look forward to sharing.

  1. Thank you for looking at my blog. As you will see I am going through a difficult time at the moment, battling cancer, and haven’t the energy to post ant new recipes. However I do still follow a few sites and their posts and try some of them.

  4. What a brilliant idea… a recipe diary for your children. I was talking to my mom just the other day about how kids learn to cook today. I’m sure you’ve taught your kids and now you’re giving them excellent recipes and directions along with it. Excellent idea!

  8. Hi Linda, Thank you for liking my post on making the quilt. I took a quick look through some of your recipes and they look wonderful. I particularly liked the cranberry sauce cake; I always have cranberry sauce left over and wonder what to do with it. Now I know!
